5 Must Have Apps in Chicago

Sharing is caring!

Today marks my fifth week in Chicago and what a great experience it’s been so far. Who knew quitting your job and deciding to go travelling for the summer could be such great idea. Since my arrival I have been using a lot of apps for my day to day living in Chicago and they’ve made life much easier. Here are my 5 must haves.

City Mapper

This app has proven to be life saver more than a few times now. City Mapper is a transit app which makes getting around Chicago a breeze. It offers a variety of ways of getting from A to B and also shows real time departures. If you planning on travelling around Chicago a lot this app is a must.

Ventra

The cheapest way of getting where you want to go in the city is with public transport, which is actually very reliable in Chicago. If you’re planning on travelling a lot during your stay your better off getting a Ventra Card and having an unlimited travel pass on it. You have the choice of a 1, 3, 7 and 30 day pass.

Uber

If public transport isn’t your thing then of course Uber is your next best bet of getting where you need to go. One tap of a button and within minutes a car will come to collect you and take you where you need to go. All of the payment is handled through the app so there’s no need to tip.

Groupon

You can find plenty of amazing deals on entertainment, dining, hotels and activities in Chicago with Groupon.

Choose Chicago

This is a great app for finding things to do in your location. As well as local deals it lets you know about numerous events taking place around the city and gives you the latest weather.
